highways 92 and 6 (east to west), highways 59 and 71 (north to south) from Des Moines to Council Bluffs Iowa.   Omaha, Nebraska is just across the Missouri River.  This creates employment opportunities with reasonable commutes and all manner of shopping.  Nearby smaller cities such as Atlantic (reachable by highway 6) and Griswold (by highway 92) have quicker access.
